What's up guys my name is Marissa and in this video I'm going to be talking about how much YouTube actually pays me per every thousand views. We're also going to be talking about how the bigger youtubers with millions of subscribers and millions and millions of views. How much they make on their videos in channels with millions of views.

So, I'm going to give you an idea of what people actually make what is average what is below average and also I'm going to give you guys some tips at the end of this video on how you can really optimize your ad revenue once your channel gets monetized for Google Adsense.

American Dirt. The unforgettable story of a mother and son fleeing a drug-cartel to cross the US-Mexico border. (RECOMMENDED)

Have you ever looked at a huge channel like a big youtuber like Jenna Marbles who has I think sixteen or seventeen million subscribers and millions and millions of views cumulatively on her videos. Well she makes a lot of money but big youtubers like her like Jenna Marbles and Pewdiepie and people who have you know these random videos about funny things about gaming's and reaction videos all put together they make a lot of money but they could be making way more if they were to focus in on a niche and I'll explain why so yes the bigger youtubers like PewDiePie and Jenna Marbles they are at the top they make a lot of money but what it boils down to for every thousand views is the CPM or the cost per thousand views.

Now everybody's CPM is very different. So, what you can expect from a huge youtuber like those two is around one to two dollars per CPM and that's just because like I said their topics are very random and they have like funny videos mixed with topics, like gaming and reactions.

So, it's really hard for advertisers to narrow down what it is exactly that they are doing on their channel. And that's why advertisers are more willing to put more money onto smaller YouTube channels that are more niche specific like entrepreneurial channels, business channels, cooking, yoga, meditation…

And so advertisers are more willing to put more dollars on those types of channels because they are more focused and the people that are watching their channels are more willing to buy when they purchase or see an ad on their videos.

The MAGA Doctrine: The Only Ideas That Will Win the Future. (RECOMMENDED)

So, let's compare the CPM of PewDiePie or Jenna Marbles to a smaller youtuber like my channel or even a youtuber in respective to the millions million subscribers, a youtuber that has a hundred thousand subscribers or even 500 thousand typically youtubers.

In my niche which is entrepreneurship online marketing will make anywhere between 40 to $50 per CPM. I checked my ad revenue today and at the making of this video my CPM is about $54.

Do you want to check any youtubers you know approximate monthly revenue, all you have to do is go to social blade and you could look at people's total number of use and also views that they're getting per month. So, just do the math divide by a thousand and then multiply by their CPM and that's approximately what people are making every single month from ad revenues.

Say Nothing: A True Story of Murder and Memory in Northern Ireland. (RECOMMENDED)

Alright so what is like the first tip I have for you guys in regards to how to increase your CPM once your channel gets monetized and by the way if you didn't know already to get monetized you need at least a thousand subscribers and four thousand watch hours within a twelve month period to qualify for Google ad revenue so the first thing I recommend is to use YouTube tools keywords everywhere and VidIQ and TubeBuddy are the greatest tools and you know I think the only tools that you'll need to do some good keyword research so keyword research is really important because as I said advertisers are looking for that specificity and they're looking to put their ads on content that is relevant to what they are selling.

So for example, a channel like Think Media I love his channel because he talks a lot about technology and does a lot of reviews on cameras and stuff like that and he even teaches a lot about YouTube optimization and how to grow your YouTube channel but he is making way more money per thousand views than a channel such as the bigger you know PewDiePie channels because he is so focused on what he is doing and his content is way more relevant to advertisers and one of the main reasons is because of keyword research he is using keywords that are relevant to you know for example a luminix camera versus a sony a 100 camera blah blah blah

People are actively looking for reviews on camera and different technology things every single month so keywords everywhere is a great tool it is a free Chrome extension you can download and also vid IQ has a free version of the application I use these two tools actively every single day but essentially these are going to help you with the most searched keywords per month the competition what is high what is low what is medium and I highly suggest that you guys use these tools actively every single day when trying to optimize your video.

It's a physician for more views and to rank it on the first page of YouTube and what I like about vid IQ even the free version of VidIQ is that once you click on anyone's channel or any video whether it's your video or another video on another channel you can see right away how many views they're getting their total estimated revenue, you can see their tags and what tags are working for them. So it is super helpful to start using that tool and keywords everywhere right away as you're trying to grow increase your viewers and subscribers and increase that CPM if you have monetize your channel with Google Adsense.

Flat Belly Fix - A Weight Loss Journey (RECOMMENDED)

Allright guys, so Google Adsense is great and CPM is the way you make money and monetize your channel with the revenue you get from the ad set play on your channel however monetizing your channel with ad revenue is not my favorite one because it is not super predictable as far as the algorithm you don't control it and actually you only get paid half of what Google Adsense pays you so for example right now you can see what I actually earn on my revenue YouTube takes half of that and I only get half of that knob I'm grateful for that 50% but just to show you that you don't really have control of the ad revenue.

So it is my least favorite way and if you guys are interested in my group mentoring program for YouTube for business I showed you guys how to set up your YouTube channel for business the proper way and how to monetize your channel using other methods besides ad revenue such as affiliate marketing digital courses maybe you're a coach or a consultant so if you're interested in that group mentorship program, check out the link below and you can check out the application process and see if you were to qualify for the group mentorship program.

Brain Training For Dogs - Unique Dog Training Course! (RECOMMENDED)

Alright, so moving right along my next tip for you guys is to make your videos at least 10 minutes or longer that way you have the option to add more ads into your video. So for example if it is 10 minutes or longer you can put an advertisement at the end of your video or in between your video you can put several in between your video if you want.

So I highly recommend to do that and it also helps with getting more views so you know you have that requirement to monetize your channel you need at least 4,000 watch hours well the way you do that is by increasing the length and time of your video. So I wouldn't go crazy and make 30 minute videos but definitely try to hit that 10 minute mark because the average duration of watch time generally on a channel is around 40 to 50% on the higher side.

6 Tips For Higher Converting Videos on YouTube - Increase Traffic Leads and Sales

So if you make your videos shorter your watch time is not going to go up people are still only going to watch 40 to 50 percent of a video on a five-minute video. So you know two and a half minutes versus five minutes makes a huge difference over time. Alright so for those youtubers who are just starting out your channel or maybe you haven't even started your channel and you still need to create it, I highly recommend checking out this video where I go over six things that youtubers must know even before publishing your first video.

So these YouTube settings are really going to help for the optimization of your channel so check out this video after this video and so this brings me to my last tip and how to really increase your CPM once you get monetize on your channel and that is to do informational videos and tutorials and deliver lots of value on your channel.

So the way you do that in the way that you can really have your channel be more relevant to these advertisers is to do videos on how to's step by steps tutorial based and people really want to learn from you on how to do something and so if you optimize your YouTube scripts and the content on your video on step by step things and how people can take action right away people will stick to the end of the video and that way your video will be more relevant to your subscribers and will be more marketable to those advertisers who want to put their advertisements on your channel.

Alright guys so I hope this video was super helpful and helped answer the question of how much YouTube pays me per thousand views versus me as a small youtuber versus somebody way bigger like PewDiePie or Jenna Marbles.

If you did learn from this video give it a big thumbs up. And you know what to do next join the family subscribe to the channel, hit the notification bell. I will see you on the next video. Take care!
